A BIT ABOUT ME...
Growing up in a household with two artistic parents and three creative sisters, Phoenix Mellow, was raised and accustomed for the innovative and passionate environment of Costume Design. Phoenix is a native east-coaster; a Delawarean that sewed and designed at a young age. Her parents raised her in an art studio and in New York City art museums, where she matured her artistic knowledge and expanded her natural senses for aesthetics. She started her design education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City as a Fashion Design major. She moved to Los Angeles to finish her education at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in the Costume Design for Film and TV program. Phoenix has developed her fundamental costume skills working alongside extremely influential designers and costume heavy shows such as Mad Men with Janie Bryant and Black Panther with Ruth Carter. Phoenix Mellow is a costume designer known for her work on Comedy Central's television show, Detroiters, which captures the fun of two young ad-men in Detroit style . Working as a stylist on projects, such as music videos for Katy Perry's Hey Hey Hey and custom costumes for Halsey as Poison Ivy, Phoenix is able to release her passion for high fashion, made-to-order, and can keep a fun edge to her work. Phoenix enjoys fashion illustration and continues to use sketching as outlet to express her work and creativity. As a designer, Phoenix is imaginative, energetic, and passionate. She fuses well with Directors and Producers to help build their ideas and her own onto the screen. Phoenix hopes to expand the appreciation for Costume Designers, by fabricating real and exciting characters that speak to all types of imaginations.
